Job Opening
Fundraising Associate
AARON CONSULTING COMPANY helps nonprofit organizations raise more money. We provide expert fundraising counsel and comprehensive management of fundraising campaigns. We specialize in high-end, multi-discipline fundraising projects, including benefit galas, major gift solicitations, capital campaigns, and membership drives.
The Position
This is a full-time position working on a broad range of fundraising projects for nonprofit clients in New York. The primary job responsibilities are fundraising project management and donor relations, but may also include other areas depending on the needs of the clients and your skills and abilities. Every staffer, including the owner of the company, is called on to do tasks that range from the cerebral to the mundane. Everything we do is focused on raising funds and advancing the missions of our clients. More than half of Aaron Consulting's projects are major fundraising events, so much of the work entails planning and administering these events, with a focus on the fundraising and outreach process. We take great pride in the quality of our work.
If you have experience working at a nonprofit organization, enjoy working on a team, and would like to develop serious fundraising and project management skills, then this is an ideal position for you. Aaron Consulting works directly with the board and executives of our clients, who depend on us for expert advice and flawless project execution.
Qualifications
Poise and confidence is required. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required. The ability to speak and write clearly is very important. Proficiency with database management is intrinsic to the job, though specific training will be provided. A sense of humor is always welcome.
Office Life
Aaron Consulting is headquartered in the landmark district Park Slope Brooklyn, on a floor of an old brownstone. Though we take our work very seriously, life at the office is generally laid back. The office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Your schedule can be arranged with some flexibility. It is typically any eight hours between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. including a half hour lunch. Late night and weekend work is rarely required, except on "Show Days" when we need to staff a benefit event. Currently we have five full-time staffers working in the office.
Compensation
This job pays in the low 30s, though we'll consider paying more for someone with significant experience. We offer a fully paid medical plan for full time employees. Paid leave includes four weeks of vacation, 10 holidays, and 5 sick days per year. There is a profit sharing plan for employees who have worked at Aaron Consulting for at least two years.
