Overview
Todd Wiener, founder of Aaron Consulting Company, is a management consultant who specializes in technology-based marketing and fundraising for businesses and nonprofit organizations. Chief Operating Officer (from September 1995) and Director of Development. For this press freedom and human rights organization, Mr. Wiener increased annual income by 35% by improving foundation and corporate support, directing the organization's three most successful fundraising dinners, and launching its first comprehensive membership program. At the same time, he dramatically reduced operating costs while greatly enhancing the organization's research and publishing capabilities. He designed a human rights research and web site publishing system, which included electronic newsfeeds provided pro bono by news companies at Mr. Wiener's request.

AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY New York, NY
• May 1992 -- May 1993

Development Writer. The museum, beloved by many but considered by donors to be stagnant and anachronistic, needed to be portrayed as a vital cultural institution. Mr. Wiener developed foundation, corporate, and government grant proposals, ranging from $50,000 to $4.5 million for exhibitions and scientific research. He also wrote fundraising newsletters, brochures, and case statements.

EARTHWATCH Watertown, MA
• September 1988 -- May 1992

Development Manager. Mr. Wiener researched prospective foundation and corporate donors, developed sponsorship concepts, and wrote successful grant proposals for this field research organization. He helped Earthwatch reach its fundraising goal for the first time in its twenty-year history. He also developed a fundraising database system, including a module for managing Earthwatch's scholarship and fellowship program.

Vendor. Mr. Wiener owned and operated a mobile fast-food service establishment.

B.A. Sociology. At this liberal arts college outside Boston, Mr. Wiener concentrated on urban grassroots political movements in the United States and agrarian development policies in sub-Saharan Africa.
